    wells fargo RABBLE RABBLE

I am no longer banking with Wells Fargo. I should've stopped banking with them a loooong time ago, but it's simply more convinient to take a fist up the ass, than transferring all bills and deposits over to another bank.

But after this past week I am done.

No longer than a week ago, I was here at work checking my account balance online. My Playonline bill and an energy drink bring me to 17 dollars overdrawn. I can't take off from work on a saturday to fix my balance. So monday morning I put in twenty dollars to get my account above balance just to last me until pay day the next day.

Then a few hours later, I check my account again to see that I'm once again under, because they charged me a ****ing overdraft fee for 35 dollars. I know thats no surprise, and happens often to poeple, but when I have a piece of paper saying I'm balanced, then few hours later they finally charge an overdraft fee, complete crap.

So the next day I go to the main branch in my town to see if they can reverse the fee. I've come to find that I am in fact now 73 dollars overdrawn.

They charged me another overdraft fee, because I had two transactions that overdrew me. My 15 dollar playonline bill, and my two dollar energy soda. Thats right, 35 bucks for a ****ing soft drink. And a five dollar perpetuating fee that they charge daily until you are back and balanced.

While shocked, I remained calm and polite, speaking with the manager of all the branches to see if it can be reversed. He starts spitting that it isn't his problem. And I should be more responsible.

I argued that if they reversed those stupid fees, I'm not even overdrawn. I've been a good customer for years now, and this month my employer messed up on my hours, and I had to get a new pair of glasses that cost me 500 dollars. So I was riding thin.

This rude ass douche tells me that it aint his problem, and I say, to him "look man, I'm a good customer, I don't even know why we are having a problem here." He points to the computer screen tells me that obviously I am not a good customer. 73 overdrawn purely of BS overdraft fees. Yeah, IM A BAD CUSTOMER.

So I told him that if he aint even willing to empathize with his customers so they can get back on track and continue to do business with them, that he can go **** himself.

So I call the 800 number and they reverse 40 dollars of the fees surprisingly no problem. I go back and deposit a couple of hundred dollars, because I just don't want to go through the hassle of transferring banks.

Theeen this morning rolled around and my debit card declined. I call up the 800 number and I find out they closed my account without my authorization. But they told me over the phone that I did authorize it, which is complete ****. And that I can simply go to the nearest branch and they'll reissue me a new account #, card, etc.

So really, I'm done. If I have to go through the trouble of rerouting my bills to a new card, etc. I might as well switch to a new bank. Because I'm sick of this ****.

So does anybody know of any good nation wide banks that don't completely suck ass? I know that any will pretty much fist you repeatedly, but maybe I can find one with nice, courteous, fists that are firmly clenched and lubed.

I use a credit union, and ing direct (www.ingdirect.com) for savings.

I recommend any local credit union.

I've thought about it, since my sister works at a credit union here in town. But I figure since I'm technically in the military, a nation wide bank would benefit me more in the long run.

Yah...My girlfriend and her family have used Bank of America forever and had no issues.

seems like one of those "your mileage may vary" things...

My dad hates Bank of America for some reason. He says it's not as good as Wachovia. I keep my checking account with them because Wachovia ain't up here in Boston.

I don't like Bank of America because they say in some advertisements that they're the official bank of the Yankees and in other advertisements that they're the official bank of the Red Sox, when they REALLY mean that they're the official bank of the MLB.

It just seems awfully two-faced to me.

part of the banking problem is that your able to get into overdraft in the first place. i would of checked to see which type of bank account i have (the features offered, the penalties, ect). i would never have an account that charges overdraft fees by the purchase or even as a daily. mine doesnt allow me to go into over draft, it doesnt charge me fees over a certain balance, and even if i dip under those fees its relatively minimal. read the fine print carefully.

i would of stopped dealing with the account immediately and switched banks if they decided to triple dip me in fees, regardless of circumstance. i dont care who you are, that much fees in such a short time is wrong - not even visa charges that kind of interest.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

Sorry you had to go through with that.

                    I'm with Bank Of America.

I've been with Wachovia for several years now and their customer service has been impeccable. Great, helpful, and really REALLY nice staff at all five branches I've done business with, and willing to help me figure out the best ways to do any transaction.

That being said, I don't know how good or bad they are with stuff like overdraft fees. I'ver heard mixed things. The only time I was charged any fee was when a Bank Order (take money from your account and create a check with it, as opposed to write a check to draw from your account; it's used for big amounts sometimes) was lost by the person I was paying, and I had to either pay 2% of the amount or wait 3 months (costing me 1% in interest) for them to put a Stop on it, which is pretty reasonable and I was just happy I wasn't SOL.

Avoid the big banks if at all possible; the majority of them are insolvent.

                              All banks suck equally.

What you should do is go to the bbb.org web site and file a complaint there. IT WORKS WONDERS. I just love how businesses try to be strict and rude, and then they get a BBB report on their desk and then they're practically eating out of your hands.
