i see this type of thing happen more often then it should at my store. someone returns a box that looks sealed but inside is something different or its filled with garbage. one time someone returned a ceiling fan that was filled with rocks.
its still possible that someone is lieing to get a free ds, that is something that also happens more often then it should.
Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

At the Home Depot I work at, someone bought an expensive toliet, and then came back and returned it. Inside was their old toliet, that hadn't even been cleaned.
Even though the manager looked at the toliet, the guy complained enough to get his money back.
I have seen at least half a dozen used faucets placed inside new boxes and then these scammers slip the plastic banding back around the box.
It's hard to tell if the cust is lying, or if we genuinely missed the return the first time when we were originally scammed and this poor sucker happened to pick up one of thes eunits.
My sister got a scammed item from Target before. She bought a little balloon and helium kit back in February for her son's 5th birthday party. The thing was supposed to come with balloons, shiny stringlike stuff to tie the balloons down or give to kids, and a little compressed helium tank. Well, we opened it up half an hour before the party started and discovered no balloons, no string, and an empty helium tank.
They didn't give a refund in this case, because apparently my sister doesn't know how to ***** them out enough. XD
But if I ever got a game or system or somat that was expensive, like a DS, I wouldn't let it go until I had free **** for my troubles on top of the item originally purchased.
