Trigun Final Mix by Les Claypool III?!?

I just noticed that in the credits at the end of an episode of Trigun.

    Les Claypool III???

    What is that all about?

Um, since I've seen that person mentioned in other anime credits, I would assume it's a different guy.

Not that I wouldn't put it past our loveable Les.

Maybe that's why he added the "III" to his name, as to lessen confusion.

That's such a strange name though?

          Think it's an homage?

I guess it's possible... or, maybe this Les Claypool III is the evil twin that refuses to play bass or get funky.

I'm watching the entire Trigun series for the first time.

                It's pretty cool.

Too bad the animation quality plummets after the first episode.

But then I never tried to finish the series...

I watched a few episodes and was dumbfounded by the lack of quality... anything.

It's a very mixed series. It has some great episodes (Diablo, Demon Eye, Fifth Moon, Paradise, Under the Sky so Blue). But it also has some awful episodes (Truth of Mistake, Peace Maker, Love and Peace, Vash the Stampede, Little Arcadia). Overall, it was a pretty good show.

Yeah, I guess I liked it because it was fairly unique and I enjoyed the villians. It's not the ultimate anime series or anything, but I had fun watching it.

And I thought the animation was decent throughout.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just spoiled.

The show had a lot of potential but they started the Gung Ho Guns part of the story way to late into the series which caused them to rush things at the end. They really should have stuck to the manga more and simply made the series longer.
