I am going to hopefully buy this TV.

Yep, that one right there. I should have enough saved up by mid-July to purchase the TV. I also want to buy a 3-joint wall mount for it. Unfortunately, they cost around $400. But it's all good. I've been wanting a good TV for myself for years. Now I'll hopefully be able to get one.

It'll be a few more years before the OLEDs release and become affordable, so I'm not too worried about them.

By then the new line of TVs will come out and make that look like a chump. :B

Always the positive one, aren't ya Mora?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that line of TVs were released early this month. If a new model comes out by then, I'll just look into buying the new model. No worries.

Geez...everyone's ready to buy TVs all of a sudden.

That TV is $1499 at my work this week. At first, I had qualms about the 2009 Pannys, as at first, the greens looked atrocious. But after the 100 hour break in, they look gorgeous, especially the one you're looking at.

Few misconceptions in your post, though. They did not come out this month. We got our first 2009 Panny at my work in either late February or early March. Second, usually every model year, there are two waves of TVs. The first wave (depending on manufacturer) comes out sometime between late February and early April. These are usually the entry level and midrange sets. Then in August or September, the higher end TVs are released (ie-Samsung's 750, 850, and 950 series; Sony's XBR series). Which is why I find it strange that the first wave that we've carried of the LED LCDs are in now. These are priced anywhere from $2799 to $3699, although they are on sale at my work for $2299 to $2799 (I think). I can't even fathom even HIGHER end LEDs later this year. So therefore, your July date will come before the next wave of 2009 models.

And with that, there IS a Panny that's a step up from the one you linked to. I believe it's a G series. We've not received them in at work yet, but I do believe they will be out before that late year second wave of 2009s. I think we are supposed to get them in this month or early May, if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the corrections and information.

In your opinion, how does this TV stand compared against the others in its price range? The review I read about it at CNET rated it pretty well.
