I should register here but I really don't feel like doing it right now.
I imagine that once I finish, I'll feel lots and lots of shame.

Yeah, I've heard about the website but never got around to signing up. I wish people would be sincere about their lists because they're putting down stuff like random SNES games that I couldn't imagine anyone would actually have sitting around.

I'm actually typing this up with sincerity. I'm hoping it'll help me stay on track and finish those games I've neglected for years.
Oh look, 39% of my games added so far are uncompleted! :|

Made an account. This is gonna take forever and a day to add all my games, and I will leave the process shamed by how many games I've not completed. Oh, if only there was a status of, "Not even started yet" or "I've yet to remove the shrinkwrap." :|
I know I should feel ashamed that the only games I own are Chrono Trigger and Korg for the DS and Mass Effect and Street Fighter IV for the 360, but I really don't care.

Most of my "backlog" are games that I either got stuck because of a stupid unfair, to me, game-flaw (ex. a Fatlus game where the final boss requires you to grind for 100 hours) or one that I just hated but haven't sold it (ex. Wild Arms 3, sorry, I just hate that map system sooo much). Save maybe some old PC games that don't play on my computer anymore.

I noticed your sig Perv, you haven't finished one of your hand held games?
I compiled my list (http://backloggery.com/callmedave) the other day, it's somewhat depressing how many games I used to gave away to Gamestop and whatnot. The list doesn't really include anything older than N64, and only a few of my PC games. I probably have over 100 of them.

Yeah...the other day, I entered in all my handhelds. I'll probably add my console stuff when I get home from work today. Then there might possibly be 2 games I've completed. :|

Ahhhhg...why'd you post this? It took me forever to add this information on Gamespot and GameFAQs. And I have enter every game title by hand....ugh, I've played at least over 200 games in my life, this is going to take forever!

I've counted roms I've played on my GameFAQs list. I've also counted the games from compilations like the Sega Genesis collection individually, because to me the compilation isn't game in and of itself, but the seperate games are. I see this site is taking compilations into account though. And I suppose I could enter "Other" under ownership for ROMs.... :evil
Here's my backlog. Right now I just have all the Final Fantasy games in, going to go in and start adding everything else now, starting with 2nd gen games. http://backloggery.com/games.php?user=orius

Seriously.
If you have to set "goals" to finish your video games, I think you need to step back and re-evaluate your life.
It's a hobby people, not a job.

Yes, my life definitely requires a re-evauluation simply due to the fact that I leave some games forgotten and unfinished because I have other new games to play as well.
Whoops.

without goals there's no direction.
i don't know about you, but i set goals for everything from weight loss, to money saved, to how long i can let my hair grow out before cutting it.
this is a list for organizing your collection and listing whether or not you've beaten it.
show me one collector who doesn't organize their material (that's a rhetoric because collecting and organizing go hand in hand)

I also use lists like this to brag about my collection. And to show off just how many games I've played.
I was checking the system stats pages, and I found that I was on all the Top 10 list for the Intellivision: http://backloggery.com/systemstats.php?console=IntVis Then I remembered that nobody really gives a **** about that old system.
:hunchback
A lot of the uncompleteds on my list are old 2nd gen games that didn't have any real goals to them and just kept going until you ran out of plays/lives.

I've kind of given up ever finishing all of these.
Right now I'm working on Persona 3 and Pokemon Platinum.
The only ones I'm never even going to attempt to even play again are Evergrace, Silhouette Mirage, Armored Core 4, Halo 2, Sonic Heroes, and Final Fantasy Origins. everything else, I'll play, but will likely never, ever finish. 15 of these games are RPGs, and those of course take the longest time to finish.

That's a lot of games. My collection is around 120 games, and there's a few dozen more I want, and that's about my comfort level. The idea of collections like some people have with hundreds of games makes my head spin sometimes. I also have few consoles, and none of them are multiple consoles from the same generation. And my only handheld system is a Gameboy, lately the screens on handhelds have been seeming a bit too small for me.
Now I have to add the various arcade games, rentals, store displays, trade-ins and Gamboy games to my log.

Valk, you can knock out Klonoa 2 and Shenmue 2 in a single day, Fable the next day, and the two Resident Evil games the next day. They're really, really short and I don't even play games that often.

unfortunately, the GC RE games are too damn creepy for me to play for long. yeah. I'm a wuss. the atmosphere and the insane level of detail in the graphics just pull me in too much. and then throw in the damn crimson heads and I end up shutting the game off.
RE Zero isnt that bad, but I hate the inventory system.
I find it impossible to believe Shenmue 2 could be finished in one day.

You could probably make enough money at the Lucky Hit stand in one day of playing to be able to continue on your quest. Oh, wait...you only get a certain amount of time, and then need to pay for your motel room.
Scratch that. You'll be playing Lucky Hit for days upon days upon days.

I find it impossible to believe Shenmue 2 could be finished in one day.
The length and pacing is pretty much the same as the first Shenmue. As long as you don't wander around questioning random people and trying to collect every little thing the game breezes by pretty quickly.
Ah, fond memories of getting Shenmue for Christmas and playing it at about 8AM.
I finished it at 12AM. That was the last time I ever did a marathon run but dammit it was worth it. I pulled my hair fighting that creepy old guy.

Here's my backloggery. (http://backloggery.com/main.php?user=riskbreaker255)
A lot of games listed as "incomplete" have actually been completed, but I am on subsequent play-thrus. Either because I wanted to, or my old file got trashed. So the completion status listed isn't nearly as high as it should be. I'm going to try and list more games that I used to own, but pawned off, but I honestly can't remember them all.

Valk's backlist
Monster Ranchers can't be "beaten" so that's not really backlog material.
Fable is one of the shortest high-budget games in existance so I don't see why anyone cant beat that quickly.
But it depends on your level of "beaten" I guess because I highly doubt you didn't at least beat the arena foes in Nine-Breaker or complete one storyline in the other AC games.
If you ever just want to see the ending for morrowind you could always either cheat or do the whole 5 minute playthrough of it where you just murder the end-boss as a level 1 orc.

I havent played Fable much yet.
Monster Rancher games cannot be beaten, but they can be played and won, I have yet to do that with 2 and 4.
Havent played much of Ninebreaker. I dont like it.
Last Raven caught me at a bad time, and I havent gone too far into that at all. maybe like, 5 missions.

Sorry about the triple post, but I finally finished entering in all my games.
And what a sad, pathetic display it is.
395 games owned. Only 1.6 percent complete. (http://backloggery.com/main.php?user=perversion)
Half of those six were on the Dreamcast, and one third were on the PSN (flower and Linger in Shadow, which only take about an hour and a half and about 45 minutes, respectively, to "beat").

I added you guys to my friends list if any of you care. My collection is a bit older than everyone else's though, because I've counted the 25 or so years worth of games I've ever played. Some of them likely will never be completed because they're either old arcade games, or old systems that I played at a friend's house when I was younger or games I played on store displays. I've got nearly everything I've ever remembered playing on that list somewhere.
There's a lot of overlapping going on, so if you guys ever want any game tips or something, feel free to send me a message. It would give me something to do with the backlog other than just look at a long list of games.
For the record, I'm counting RPGM 1 as "Completed". I've finished Gobli, so that counts as "Beaten". This counts as completed: http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12393
