    Territorial Lockout question.

Simply put, my parents ordered a DVD from Europe for my birthday, because only the VHS edition is available here. Will I be able to play it on my PS2 (or any other DVD player)?

If your DVD player is multi-regional, yes. Otherwise, no. If your PS2 isn't PAL, you can't play it there, either.

However, should your PC have an appropriate DVD drive and software, you can play it just fine.

there are boot discs you can buy for the PS2 that will let you play any region DVD. I think one is called region X or something, but most cheat software (codebreaker, gameshark) will do it too. just look on the box and check the features.

Action Replay MAX Evo edition has a DVD Region X feature that will allow you to play DVD's from any region.

It'll run you about $40 though.

Finally came in, doesn't run on my PS2 or the DVD player. Can't check if it runs on the Xbox, as I don't have the stupid kit required to watch DVDs on it.

So, uh, I guess I'll look around and see if I find anything less than $40.
(BTW, there was a US version they found, but it was running for $50.)
