Fallout: New Vegas (actually people just complaining more about Fallout 3)

From the remnants of Black Isle Studios and Bethesda.

Fallout New Vegas was announced moments ago during a Bethesda press conference in London.

The new game was revealed by Bethesda's Pete Hines who said that the publisher is working with Obsidian Entertainment on the title.

It will be coming out next year for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

"It is not a sequel to Fallout 3," Hines said. "It's simply another Fallout game in that universe."

It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3, he said. The game's official reveal, with more details and a look at the game down the line.
    I am cautiously optimistic.

Obsidian at least has some experience in making real RPG's but if it's "the same sort of role-playing experience seen in Fallout 3" that means a shallow one.

I really hope people learned from fallout 3 and don't waste money on the PS3 version.

without the rpg elements the game is just a first person shooter. a bad one at that. STALKER fufills my "shooting and exploring a big apocalyptic world" niche and it's much more playable and less buggy than fallout 3.

Well, you can always beg Bethesda to not cheat you out of the expansions.

Operation Anchorage sucked, but you get some cool stuff for beating it, like some glitched armor that never degrades and an armor that lets you infinitely stack more helmets ontop of it.

The Pitt was pretty cool. auto-axe is highly over-rated though.

Heres hoping it ends up waaaaaaay better than Fallout 3. Part of me wants a game set in the same area the first two games where. but that was a HUGE damn area, and they'd need to go back to using a world map.

And Vehicles. I want to be able to ride all those motocycles lying around everywhere at raider camps, or build a madmax style interceptor and have mad amx car chases with raiders. Ahhhh yeah.

GTA: New Vegas? No thank, you.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

It didnt really seem all that great in the videos. Whats it damage at, ammo, etc.

The Deathclaw gauntlet seems like it could probably outdo it.

it's damage seems to be fairly inconsistant. it's slow to get going, too. but once it does, it shreds opponents apart pretty well. after you kill an enemy, you get a long stream of messages informing you that every single body part on the enemy was crippled. I havent used it enough to see just how long it can last.

it's just for show, mostly. considering you have to get so close, a quick headshot from the combat shotgun takes the enemy out just as well, with no rev-up time added.

I like the auto axe. Deals good damage and helps save me ammo. Although it does kinda degrade fast if it's all you use, and if your attack is blocked/deflected, you're left pretty defenseless for i think a couple of seconds, which is bad if you're outnumbered.
