can't wait to watch over-the-top fmv's then plow through slow, plodding battles!

nah, it looks neat. at first i thought the black guy was going to be a terrible stereotype but he looks like a more interesting character than butt kicking i-can-play-with-the-boys-too female lead.

This is the first female lead character in a regular numbered title since FFVI, so of course I'm good with it. The Final Fantasy sausage fest was getting to be too much.

I was watching a streaming video last night of someone playing through the demo and there is some truly awful character designs, looked mostly like secondary characters though.

I guess if I have to go with either extreme, it'll be the kick butt girl.

Ashe was the main character of-- oh wait, no she wasn't she was downplayed because Japan needs 16 year old pretty boys as the star.

I'll probably end up getting the PS3 version. I'm hoping their porting to the 360 doesn't mean they downgrade the graphics to look the same. I like sharp FMV's and crisp textures, thank you.

EDIT: oh and they better stay in the city. leaving midgar in ff7 was like the disc kicking me in the balls.

No worries there. They said they're doing the PS3 version first, building it for that, and then porting it to 360 afterwards.

I dont know what it is, but I just cant play RPGs anymore man. I just need more to a game than just clicking commands and watching everything happen for me and relying on stats to win battles for me.

I think Monster hunter and Devil May Cry 3 got me into this. I want to be the one evading attacks because Im good at playing, not because I have 167 EVADE. :/
