I went and saw Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds with Gwommy and Blackberry in Grand Rapids, MI. Front row left next to the strings section.
It was excellent. The "kid" next to me (probably about about 20 years old, actually) practically blew a load during "One Winged Angel". He was one of those embarassing Final Fantasy fanboys that most likely started on VII. I had a quiet appreciation for the music and loved the medley from FFI/II/III. My only disappointment was the lack of any music from IV.
We sang Happy Birthday to Nobuo (even though his b-day was few weeks back) and he walked right past us on the way out. He was wearing sandals and a doo-rag and he has the best smile and a great sense of humor.
All in all it was a great experience and if it's ever in the neighboorhood I suggest booking some seats. I enjoyed getting off the couch and getting some culture for a change. I also went and saw The Lion King musical in East Lansing earlier this month, and it was extremely awesome, as well.
