I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but here's one I've seen before:

This is the one that was used:

        http://www.speakout.com/VoteMatch/Pr....asp?quiz=2008

They should probably just pick the general Political Philosohpy option. Also, tell them to read the link for every question, because some are worded very misleadingly, and the answer they give may be different from what they think the question says. Also, like I said in the thread from back in the fall, this looks like one of those tests set up by the Libertarians, and they often have a tendancy to skew Libertarian (probably to get people to think they should support that party). Tell your friends to take the results with a grain of salt.

As to the SpeakOut test (both of these tests have been featured here, I think), I don't see how it can give you a Libertarian skew when the Libertarian candidate was a Republican in masquerade. Bob Barr was the worst choice listed for me ("Bob Barr is not for you!"), with a staggeringly low 0% agreement on Social issues. And I thought the descriptions of each category were pretty fair, to be honest.

I got Hillary just now as my best match, very slightly above several other candidates. For the record, I'd describe myself as in favor of every single personal freedom that cannot clearly and directly harm other people, and a proponent of "do what creates the best outcome for society" as far as economic policy (though I feel that Free Trade and less government intervention accomplish this except when major externalities or safety issues are present).

You have an acceptable match with Hillary Clinton. You might consider voting for Hillary Clinton if you particularly like his character and background.
Oh, that is right on so many levels.

That's because the Libertarians will take anyone as a candidate.
