Rumor has it that the third Magus brother lurks around the pavilion after dark looking for his lost avatar, and if he catches you he steals your avatar thinking it's his own and you become cursed to wander the pavilion for the rest of your days with only a dreaded red X.The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I think that same brother came to the mag shortly and stole several avatars. Red X's everywhere! No one anywhere is safe from the third Magus.
