DS Idea Contest

How about that; Nintendo Japan is currently holding a contest to see who can come up with the most original ideas to make use of the DS and it's features. It isn't exclusive to the Japanese, though... It's also open to everyone else!

The judges include a number of Japanese celebs and, most importantly, Shigeru Miyamoto himself.

The prize? Well, nothing too noteworthy, just two million yen...



... wait. Two million yen?! That's nearly... 20,000 USD.

Donuts for everyone for the rest of the year!

'Fraid it seems like it's the only site. If Babblefish gets screwy, you could always look around some message boards with translations.

By the by, second place gets 200,000 yen and third gets 100,000.

Oh, I almost forgot, submissions should be on postcards, rather than a piece of paper. I'm not sure if they allow other forms... I'll look around for more info 'till someone with a grasp of Japanese fills us in.

EXTREME HANGLIDING. Use the stylus to move around your hangliding guy, and use your voice to determine how strong the wind is.

I'd make a game, where you're an up and coming surgeon; you use the stylus as various operating implements and-

A boy and girl are stranded on a deserted island. Using the stylus, you make tools, fish, hunt and search for survival!

Hmmm, or maybe...

You're a girly white-haired kid who's really Dracula! You go to a castle where you kick demon ass by drawing shapes on them!

Oh man my game Donut Crisis X would work so well for DS. Maybe i'll enter this contest. You could use the stylus to draft your own trap plans! Donut slicing action! ahhh
