Should I play beyond the beyond?

Have this sitting in my playstation collection from when I was 12 but never got far into it. did not touch it since. is there anything enjoyably worthwhile in the game?

Beyond the Beyond isn't worth your time except as a case study on how not to make a jRPG. It's got poor graphics, boring art direction, a bland story full of vacuous and cliche characters, and a complete lack of interesting gameplay elements or balance. Even as an RPG-starved twelve year old, I was still bored by it.

I tried playing it a while back because I had played through most of it as a kid and my friend lent me his copy.

I was having a little bit of fun with it, because I was familiar with it, and then I stopped because it got really taxing and the dungeon I was in was pretty brutal in comparison to everything up to that point.

Turns out my friend doesn't really want the game back, I don't think I'm going to ever finish it though considering I own many better games.

There are so many better RPGs, hell, even better GAMES, that I don't know why this would even be an option.

I sure felt that way, before I quit less than two hours in.

i wanted to love the game. it was one of my earliest PS1 game purchases.

But the insane amount of random battles I ended up going through were a turn off for me.

The battles themselves looked really neat, though.



I forget the guy's name, but he was really strong up until he got cursed as part of the story so he ended up being really weak.
