    A fun internet game here at the Pav: Pong to....(currently) Oblivion

    I just thought of something to pass the long hours many of us spend at this place. Don't know exactly how this will turn out, but here's the deal.


    I'm gonna list a video game, and the next poster will take one element in that game, think of another game that has the same element, say what the element is, and post the name of the game. I'm thinking along the lines of a physical object in the game or a character or character type, or maybe even a gameplay element or scene in the game, not a genre. Bonus points awarded for something esoteric, and double bonus points for the next person who is able to capitalize on that.


    For example, to go from Castlevania to Final Fantasy by saying "staircase" is not QUITE as good as going from God of War to Golgo-13 by saying "sex scene."


    If this takes off, I can see multiple people all trying to post at once, with a jumbly mess as a result. So I'm gonna suggest that if you wish to participate, post after the person before you to reserve your spot in line, and then once you see what's above you, edit your post to add to the chain. If you are stumped and wish to pass, edit to say, "pass," and the next person will take their turn. Just please do so in a reasonable amount of time so people are not just waiting. If you have an open slot, and are gonna be away from the Pav, edit to pass, please.




    Let's start out with the most basic game I can think of: Pong. I'm pretty sure "paddle" and "ball" are about all you're gonna be able to get out of this, but feel free to surprise me.

        Jet Grind Radio has almost as much GRINDING in it as Sonic Adventure 2.

          Sonic Adventure 2 has an ANTHROPOMORPHIC ANIMAL as its main character, as does Klonoa.

              Klonoa is a DREAM TRAVELER, similar to the DREAM CHASERS in Wild ARMs.

                The main character in first two Wild ARMs games had BLUE HAIR, just like the protagonists in Breath of Fire I-IV.

                    BREATH OF FIRE has the same title as Bowser's attack in Super Mario Bros.

                      EDIT: In Super Mario Bros., you consume mushrooms. Videogame designer Keita Takahashi (from Katamari Damacy fame) has been accused of consuming mushrooms.

                        And no, I don't want it to die. But as long as you just post NEXT and then edit, and before you log off, if you're still up, just edit with "skip," it really shouldn't be all that difficult. It's not like someone is adding 10 minutes of storyline or whatever. It's a 30 second post.


                        Katamari Damacy has THUMBTACKS in it. In Skies of Arcadia, Vyse peeps Aika brushing her hair by moving aside a cloth tacked to her house.
