We'll have to wait until Fall to see how it is, but if Stargate: Atlantis was any indication...

Yeah, I hope its good, but I don't expect much. In interviews TPTB, said they are hoping to target a slightly younger audience, and to perhaps draw in some of BSG's now abandoned viewers. And by younger I mean younger than the 25-49 year old demographic they were hitting with SG-1 and Atlantis, so they want upper teens to mid-30's.

I wasn't that in to BSG so I'm not sure I'll like a show that leans in that direction.

But, like you said, if Atlantis is an example of the direction the franchise is taking, I expect some level of failure.

I've been watching and enjoying SG-1 since I was like 3. Damn demographics.

I really liked Stargate (the movie) a whole lot. I quite enjoyed the early years of SG-1 and the later years to a lesser extent. I couldn't get into a single episode of Atlantis, even with Kaylee from Firefly in it. It was like how I liked every Star Trek, even Voyager, and then couldn't find anything to like about Enterprise. So I can't figure how I'll feel about Universe.

Oh, the Stargate cartoon sucked.

I ended up watching SG-1 for the mythology alone towards the end, and I couldn't get over how even in another galaxy everything ends up looking like Vancouver.

I've loved all of the Stargate series so far, and the original movie. I hope i can be interested in Stargate Universe, but since my interest in BSG never happened, my expectations are low.

I tried watching Stargate a few times, and it just seems soooo rinky-dink compared to Battlestar Galactica. And watching them try to ape Star Trek isn't going to earn them any points in my book.
