so ive been on a game buying spree since i got a raise, had an extra paycheck, and didnt feel like paying my student loan.

i choose to indulge in some of my more expensive gaming wish list and purchased these 5 games at exorbitant prices. these are in US prices,

tactics ogre: $90

ogre battle: $60

ogre battle 64: $40

vagrant story: $35

silent hill: $45

for a grand total of: $270 US plus shiping plus conversion and my wallet is down $333 canadian. ugh, i have expensive taste.

these are the last remaining games on my to buy list.

-tales games (the entire series, arc of the land ect)
-tomb raider - (old classics that arnt in my collection for some reason)
-resident evil (have to sort out what to buy, may just buy em all)
-grandia
-azure dreams
-persona 1 & 2 (the most expensive game now on my list)
-treasures of the deep


this will complete my ps1 game collection. i have so many games that there really isnt anything else left to get other then these. once i complete this list then i can work on my ps2 list and some of the other games i want. i better hope my tax return is a nice size :/

You realize Ogre Battle just came out cheap on the Virtual Console. And the Silent Hill can't be too far away from a PSN re-release?

i wont ever buy a wii and its very unlikely ill ever buy a ps3 so what they release on the vc or psn is of no concern for me.

I'm guessing the Ogre Battle you listed above is the PSX rerelease, not the SNES original. Surprisingly, the PSX version goes for as much or more than the SNES version...unless you are looking for one with original box, manual, foldout maps/character sheets....WHICH I USED TO FREAKIN' OWN, in good condition, with box, manual, and foldout sheets, AND WAS STOLEN!!!


That's a good score, though Karr. You have all three North American Ogre Battle games in physical form in your posession (well, not counting the duplication of the SNES/PSX one), and it seems as if you did not pay an exhorbitant amount (the Tactics Ogre is a bit lower than I usually see it for, and the others, depending on condition, were a good deal).

completeness and condition are huge for me. i wont buy just disks or products that dont have all the parts. i have to make sure i get the full game with all parts and in good condition which means i pay more then the lowest priced items.

i take very good care of my games, i store them in a dark case, i dont touch the data area, i make sure the packaging is in a safe place. one day i may wish to sell them and i want to get full value for them. i just like to collect and play them, its like reliving my childhood.

as for the snes version, i dont have a console anymore so its not much good to me else id of bought them all, even with the rarity.

I had a chance to buy Nocturne, still sealed, for $50, and decided against it.


Later, I bought a used copy, sans soundtrack CD for the same price.

When buying Nocturne, be sure to get the 1st edition that had the music cd. Atlus rereleased it last year to drive up sales for Persona 4 but didn't include the disc (which is a really good disc!).

Which Orgebattle was it? SNES or PS1?

I only paid 30 bucks for the PS1 version.

you got a very good deal then, its the ps1 version. ive been watching the auctions for a few years and though the price has fluctuated, i havent seen it much lower. prices seem to be rising over the last few years, which makes sense considering how old/rare some of them are.

I had an opportunity to buy Persona 2 a few years ago for $25 or $30, and declined purchasing it.




I'd be even more if I had bought Rhaphsody: A Musical Adventure for the PS1 which was there for $20 that same night instead.

ive played Rhaphsody right through. ive never felt so embarrassed to play a game in all my life. i changed the screen whenever my mother came in the room because i didnt want her to see me play a game like that.
