Toastie can join in too, but I'm pretty sure nobody else here has played these games.
So, why is it that I got EO II, played the hell out of it, and then later got the first EO, which, by most opinions, is not quite as polished and streamlined as the second game, but I find myself not going back to EO II after I began playing the first one?
Aslo, do you have an ideal combination of character types? Most of the FAQs I've read tend to focus on having a "main" 5 character party, and having some Survivalists in reserve to serve no other purpose than gathering/mining/chopping. I tend to make at least one character of each type (sometimes 2 if I'm focusing on a different skill set or weapon type...ie: one Landsknecht with a sword focus and one with an axe focus; one Survivalist with a gathering/tracking focus and one with a combat focus, etc...although I have two medics because I almost always have one in my party, and do not want the one to be over levelled), all female, of course, and switch them in and out on excursions to the forest. I play this the same way I played FFTA, meaning, I try to have as many characters of different types so I can experience all the game has to offer, and so I can get my micro-manage on.
Other than the game possibly being less of a time sink, is there any reason I would only want to focus on five main characters?
