    Arm injury

I injured the right underside of my left forearm a little over a month and half ago. I injured it by doing too many sets of curls. I waited about a month to let it heal up, but then I got sick and that was two more weeks of not lifting. I just begain lifting a week ago, but today it started to hurt again. I don't know why this is, but it has me very concerned. I'm worried that I might have to stop lifting because of this. When it was hurt, I only felt pain whenever I engaged whatever muscle I injured.

I'd like to know why my arm started hurting again (a month and a half should have been more than enough time for it to heal up), how long it's going to take my arm to completely reheal itself, and how to prevent the same injury from happening again. Would anyone be able to tell me this? Like I said, I'm very concerned about this, and I don't know what to do. I feel upset that this happened again. It felt fine four weeks in, and I would've resumed lifting had I not gotten sick.

I hate to break it to you, kiddo - but you probably ****ed up the first time. If you overdid it, did too many reps / whatever you were doing used too much weight, you probably tore something.

If you want to try and build up the muscle again, the best way is to start it slowly. Ten-ish reps a day (Something low.) Do it to the point where you feel fatigued, but not tired. Bring it up as the weeks go by but don't push it.

Is that what they're calling it now-a-days?

You should probably do even more curls. That's sure to fix it.

See a doctor eventually (or immediately if you feel the pain for more than a couple weeks without doing any activity of note), and from now on, build your way up by doing longer sets of lighter weight. Doing 3 sets of 10-30 reps (dpending on the exercise) using 30-45% of your max weight (the max amount you can do for one rep w/o hurting yourself) is a good rule for most arm exercises.

Awhile back I was skateboarding, flying down a main road in town late at night, went to go up a driveway onto the sidewalk, and the terrible roadwork leaving a couple inch ledge caught the side of my wheel, and so i go flying.

I roll a couple time, get up, scraped an elbow and such, and landed on my right hand wrong. Strangely enough, later that night my left hand starts hurting, a lot. More and more as the night goes on, until I go to the bathroom to urinate before going to sleep on my friend's couch. As I stand in front of the toilet, i felt a wave of nausea wash over me, and felt as though i might throw up. I make the mental note that I totally going to sleep after I urinate, and then... I open my eyes.

I see white and black in front of my face, very close. I realize I'm laying on my side, I try to get up, then noticing i'm wrapped in black. A curtain. I look up and around, I'm in the bathtub that was behind me as I stood before the toilet. I hear my friend say, 'What the hell was that?' I'm groggy, and find my way out of my tarp, lifting the shower curtain off myself. My friend opens the door, looking confused. Was strange to say the least. Never passed out before.

Anyway, my left hand was out of it for... awhile. I just, forgot about it. Ever month i'd try to do a push-up noticing that my hand wouldn't allow it. So I eventually stopped. A few months later, i think to try again and surprisingly, I can, with no pain, for the first time since.

My advice, forget about it. Give it more than ample time. Forget about it, and sometime when you remember you forgot, test it. Better to not break it more.
