Watchmen: The Movie official site up

    http://www.watchmenmovie.com/

There's nothing there except a familiar face.

    Still, got me excited.

Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Supremacy") is directing the big screen adaptation of the DC Comics series of the same name, originally published in 1986. Alan Moore wrote Watchmen which features art by Dave Gibbons.

Here is how DC Comics describes the 12-part series:

It all begins with the paranoid delusions of a half-insane hero called Rorschach. But is Rorschach really insane or has he in fact uncovered a plot to murder super-heroes and, even worse, millions of innocent civilians? On the run from the law, Rorschach reunites with his former teammates in a desperate attempt to save the world and their lives, but what they uncover will shock them to their very core and change the face of the planet! Following two generations of masked superheroes from the close of World War II to the icy shadow of the Cold War comes this groundbreaking comic story — the story of The Watchmen.

Yeah, that, and the casting (which should happen SOOOON, dammit) is the stuff that's got me worried.

Otherwise, David Hayter's script is supposed to be terrific.

I hope he got his writing skills from Hideo Kojima.

Last night I searched the Borders Superheroes-->graphic novels section for The Watchmen for 45 minutes. Their computer said it was in-store and in that section. It must have been stolen!

So I just surveyed From Hell and some Lucifer instead.

Hopefully this Watchmen rendition turns out more engaging than the From Hell movie.

David Hayter is a fantastic bastard.

I guess I'm the only person who can stand the shaky cam thing. I was talking to my friend, like "The bourne movies are good" and he suddenly exploded with "OMG THE CAMERA WAS SO SHAKY THAT I GOT MOTION SICKNESS AND VOMITED ALL OVER EVERYONE". It's not that bad, people.

It is not that bad, The Shield on FX is a perfect example of the shaky cam being used right, the problem is that the shaky cam is being overused like cel-shading was a year ago. You shouldn't just use the shaky cam just because. If it doesn't add anything then it'll detract.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

The camera isn't. The movie is.
