    The hardest thing

What is the most difficult thing you have accomplished in a game? Also, what's the hardest thing you have ever attempted, but failed?

For the hardest thing I achieved, I just beat God of War of god mode. Maybe it's not the hardest thing I've ever done... but it is way up there. I must have tried the clone battle at least 50 times. And that was just that battle.
The hardest thing I never achieved was Gitaroo Man on master mode. That... wow, I'm just never even trying that again.

I'll have to think about this for a bit, but the first thing that comes to mind is the most recent tough challenge: Beating SF3s Gil for the first time.

Gil on normal difficulty is a tough nut to crack, yes indeedy.

Hardest thing I ever failed at? Beating Sonic 2. Making you fight the last boss with NO rings is just mean.

I'm sure that once I actually try it, fighting Lucifer in SMTIII: Nocturne will be up there on the list. Yugh.

Hardest thing for me was probably finishing SuperC by myself. I kept playing over and over making it a little farther each time. Im almost 100% sure Ill never be able to do it again.

The hardest thing I've accomplished was fighting the Biolizard boss in Sonic Adventure 2. I had my hand pressed on that controller for seven straight hours on a hot Saturday trying to beat it, and to be left ridiculously excited when I finally did it. I thought I'd never be able to do that again, but now I can beat the Biolizard without even thinking.

The hardest thing I've failed at was beating the final boss in Silent Hill 2 on Hard Mode. The boss is ridiculously easy on the other modes, but I've never been able to beat it on Hard. I did beat it...with a GameShark, but after trying thirty times to beat the boss without it, I was more interested in just getting to the ending.

Defeating Emerald Weapon in FF7, Defeating Omega Weapon in FF8, Ozma in FF9...

And, recently, attempted to defeat the final, secret boss in Doukutsu Monogatari. I normally would be able to do it, but, damn, just getting there takes it outta me.

Getting to the 60th floor of the Chrysler building in Parasite Eve... I would've finished it, but my roommate's friend stole my first memory card.

I tried for it again, but I only got back on the 60th floor before I lent the game to a friend.

I know it's not anything special, but after looking out the window in the game and seeing the Chrysler building from a distance, I knew I had to go there.

I don't know... I've had a number of challenging experiences; beating Dr.Wily in MM7 (toughest MM boss in the series), passing the song "A" in Beatmania IIDX 8th Style, getting 999 on a number of microgames in the WarioWare series, maxxing out my monster's stats in the Monster Rancher series, and lots of other stuff I can't recall offhand. I can't really pick a most challenging moment.

I beat mega man x while holding the controller upside down. The dreamcast keyboard will work as a controller for a lot of games and I used it for whatever games supported it like that, soul calibur is one of them. I used the PS2 DVD remote to race in GT3 one time and it was horrible because it only registers one button at a time so you cant accelerate while turning.

                      Re: The hardest thing

Hardest thing I acomplished: beating Ozma in FFIX. There's no bullet proof strategy for him like there is for the Emerald and Ruby Weapons in FFVII.

Hardest thing I failed at: The Demon Shaft in the first Dark Cloud. 100 floors is way to many especially for a dungeon in that game. I gave up after the 9th floor.

Oh yeah, I beat "evolution" for the dreamcast, and I still don't know why. The last area/boss is a real pain. The game isn't worth the time I invested in it.

I beat Ninja Gaiden for XBox and Mario Bros.

I also found Onimusha 2's final battles to be quite difficult.

I recently failed at Astro Boy for GBA and playing the PS2 version of Max Payne is frustrating as hell because it lacks an autosave option and its jumping puzzles are ass.

The most difficult I accomplished in a game would be getting 100% on Shinobi, very hard. The hardest task I attempted but failed at was beating G Darius with one credit. So...many...bullets...

Hardest that I was able to do? Probably winning the first game of Blitzball in FFX.

Hardest I wasn't able to do? Every other minigame in FFX.
