    Xbox 360isms

So I want to get that new Red 360 with RE5 and SF2HDRemix that's coming out in a few weeks. To do so I wanna get rid of my old 360! The only thing really holding me back from selling it though is that I dunno what happens with all the rock band songs I"ve downloaded, since I've spent at least 100 bucks on songs from the damn game. I'm assuming they are bounded to my account and I can just select "download again" when I link my gamertag to this new hard drive but again I don't know for sure. I know you guys probably haven't done this yourselves but I'm just asking this everywhere I can. Has anyone ever done this and found it to work?

Also, if anyone wants the old 360 I'll sell it for 150 bucks, willing to go a little lower, it's in perfect working order. 20gb hard drive, wireless controller, and since I love you pavvies so much I'll try to sweeten the deal with some extra goodies as well.

    PM me if interested~~~

The red 360s are red so that the red rings of death have camuflauge.

better joke would be "the carpet matches the drapes" or something like that.

Wouldn't you want to wait to sell the console until after you get the new Xbox, since you'll need to use the data transfer cable to relocate all your stuff?

you'll have to use the license migration kit that's hidden somewhere on xbox.com too. otherwise you can only play your stuff while you're connected to live.

I was thinking the same thing, because that would eliminate the need to redownload everything, although, I'm not sure if you would still need to go through that process to reregister everything. I know when my 360 red ringed, I kept my 120 gig HDD and put it in the new console, and I've not had a problem with my Rock Band stuff. Then again, my 360 is consistently online, because I DO know when my internet was down a while back, all my downloadable games reverted to trial versions. Not sure if it's the same with Rock Band DLC, as I did not try to play that while offline.

I'm sure you're aware that the downloadable stuff is tied to the console, not the hard drive.

Guess you won't be needing these tapes now, huh?

If you want to use certain content offline, you will need to download them again. But all you really download is the license to link it to the new console.

There's no transfer cable with this new xbox so~~~ I have no problem using data license migration things or anything and of course no problem downloading, and I'm always connected to live anyway.

Could always buy one. But if you don't have too much data to transfer, then regular downloading is fine.

they've also got some 3rd party data backup thingers that I could put the new drive to once I get it?

But yeah it's not a lot, I don't need most of my save games and I'll give my Nuts & bolts blueprints to my friend so he can send them back to me once I'm up and running~

it's really the rock band 2 songs that'll take forever but I can deal.

I was thinking the same thing myself. A red console to match the RRoD.
