    MadWorld

    Debut Trailer

Sure to be awesome, stylish, cheerfully violent brawler coming to Wii from Platinum Games (aka the remains of Clover). IGN's got a nice lengthy eyes-on article on it. The story line seems to be about some kind of deadly game show or spectator sport for entertainment judging from some things said in the IGN article and a screenshot where you can see a sign that says "Welcome Challengers."

it comes out in 2009. so when you get another wii for monster hunter 3 (does that even have a release date yet?), you'll have this waiting for you.

They're also doing Bayonetta for PS3/360. Not much is known except it's directed by Hideki Kamiya (DMC) and it centers around a witch who is fighting angels and most importantly SHE WEARS GUN-HEELED SHOES!

what's the deal with designers wanting to put over-the-top violent games on the wii. I mean, I'm pretty sure no games as gory as this have appeared on 360 or PS3 so far. I guess they're just trying to net the hardcore gamer "niche" on the wii.
                yep.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is going to be pretty gory. Also, Splatterhouse. And Dead Rising had plenty of comical violence. I think the main thing is that over the top violence and gore doesn't fit as well with games that are otherwise pushing realism.

I'm convinced that Monster Hunter will appear on the PS3 in some form.

Black and white doesn't translate well to 3D, IMO.
                          ...and that's why.

Geez...Gloomy's even getting burned by American Hero now. Are you gonna take that sitting down?

I preordered this about a month ago or so, and while it looks like an enjoyably over-the-top beat-em-up, I do share Denethor's concern. I've read a few positive previews, and one concern was being able to differentiate the foreground from the background and such when there is a lot of movement on the screen.

Yasumi Matsuno has something to do with this game apparently.
