As I mentioned in another thread, I've got probably 13 virtual memory cards of RPGM3 games on my PS3 right now, most of which contain 2 or 3 files. A few are duplicate builds, etc, but most are unfinished "works-in-progress" that'll probably never be finished. I do not want to do a wholesale Pav dump of all this stuff, but I'm thinking of sifting through some of it, polishing them up a bit, and releasing a few of the more complete ones in demo form.
I need some input as to whether or not you think it's a good idea to do something like this (if I do, I'm going to try to get 2-3 out this year), or would I be better off choosing one and finishing it (that'll probably never happen), or continue work on my current project? When I installed my new HDD on my PS3, I lost any work on projects I had done after mid January, which probably also includes my minigame thing I was planning on submitting. Granted, that's a semi-easy fix (just delete all the extraneous stuff in the file that pertained to the actual game it was supposed to be a part of, and make a "hub" with warps), but my "main" current project also no longer has the 6-7 hours I spent experimenting with aesthetics. Now that I've played around enough with the invisible event models, and switching them to place stuff on top of other stuff, etc, I'm sure I could replicate it, but it'll be a hassle.
So, main question remains...should I just leave all this stuff on my memory cards, never to see the light of day, or should I polish a few up to release periodically throughout the year?
Also, a question for Wave: from what you played of S3, giving the disclaimer that it is in NO WAY anywhere close to a complete build, do you think it would be worth releasing as a demo to the general public, or should I throw a ton more hours into it to give it some sort of "goal"? Right now, it's basically an open-ended programming experiment, and I'm not sure how much actual "play value" it has in its current state.
