Crap, my house just blew away. (Windstorm '09!)

Yeah, so my power just came back on after 4 or so hours. It's been flickering since; the wind's pretty much taking everything that isn't tied down at the moment. Driving around town we even saw a car bumper skidding along on the street.

Things aren't as bad here as last September when the remnants of Hurricane Ike pretty much screwed everything from here to Tex-ass, but Oklahoma appears to have been right pummeled. Just take a look on the Weather Channel.

Anyone else affected by this freakish weather?

It was crazy here too. Had to spend about an hour in the stairwell of my dorm.

My power went off again at about midnight, and it just now just got turned back on.

Night before last we had a line of thunderstorms move in. Sunday night was rainy, too. I was happy to play in the rain, because it's been ages since we've had any.

I'm hoping it rains enough to lift the burn ban. Then we can cook outdoors again.

This storm melted all of our snow, so HOORAY FOR WINDSTORM '09!

I was walking down the street and it was very easy because the wind was doing most of the work for me. :3

Corpus Christi hasn't had any bad storms lately, but the wind has been awesome for bike riding.

Several businesses directly around my mother's office in Oklahoma City got damaged really bad or completely destroyed, as was apparently the case for the Chik-fil-a. Sorry, Funk.

When it finally made its way to Ohio, the storm took off about 20% of the shingles on my grandmother's roof (where I happen to be staying during the week) and knocked a tree down across the driveway and knocked out the power line to the house. It took three hours to cut away the tree and fix the power line, and the driveway is completely ****ed in one spot because of the heavy-duty truck they got stuck on it during a rainstorm. =D

Things are all smooth now. But I was reading by flashlight while they fixed the ****.
