I never understood why everyone always want people to subscribe to thier youtube accounts.

The more subscriptions you get, the more views, the more subscriptions and more views...

Eventually, when you reach a certain level, youtube takes notice and gives you more options to customize your account - and add advertising - which you get paid for.

So...marketing, exposure and money.
