    Metriod, where art thou?

So, when do you think we'll see another Metroid game? Think we'll hear any news about one in the upcoming E3? Retro has stated that the Prime series has been completed with the release of Corruption, and it makes me wonder what the next game will be like. A 2D Metroid would be nice, but not at the sacrifice of another 3D one. I think a 2D Metroid would be best left on the DS. However, a 2D entry in the series is long overdue.

Twothorp was in immense pain. The blisters did not care.

You should rename the topic to "Nintendo games, where art though?"

I think ninty blew it's load too early.

I love Metriod, mainly for the music.

Only 3D Metriod I played was the original Metriod Prime, god it had some great tunes.

Didn't Animal Crossing and Wii music just come out a few months ago?

starting a new metroid series (hopefully breaking away from the first person camera) and making a GOOD game is going to take a lot longer than they've had since corruption was released.

Are they planning on making a 3rd person platformer out of the series?

What kind of changes would you like to see made in the next game?

A third-person view would be interesting, but I'm not sure how that would fit into the Metroid style of gameplay.

For a better example of how that would look, play Super Metroid. Also, metroids are generally found on SR388. Well. They used to be found there.

I want a sidescrolling, sprite-based metroid game for the wii.

it could be huge and jawdroppingly beautiful if the new Wario Land game is any indication of what nintendo's up for doing with sprites these days.

                        I want Super Metroid 2.

Like, literally. That's what I want the title screen to say.

That'd be sweet, but my biggest concern for it if it could still contain the same sense of atmosphere found in the Prime titles.

i would die a happy man if the next metroid was 2.5d. i'm hoping klonoa remake does well so people start making more 2.5d.

heck, the ORIGINAL rayman 2 was going to take place on a semi-3d plane
