    Onslaught

Hudson Entertainment, of Bomberman and Bonk's Adventure fame, is bringing a 4 player online co-op sci-fi FPS to Wii. And here's the kicker, it's WiiWare! I thought WiiWare had a 40 MB limit or some such craziness. How'd they even manage this? Wonder if it'll be any good.

    Re: Onslaught

IGN's got a preview up with some videos as well.

Like other FPS titles on Wii, Onslaught utilizes the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination for its control, with the pointer of the Wii remote used for aiming and rotation. For those that require a bit more sensitivity in their "mouselook" like controls, Onslaught features four different adjustments to speed up or slow down the rotation-versus-aim ratio. The game utilizes Nunchuk motion for multiple commands: when your visor gets all gunked up with harmful alien guts, you'll need to whip the Wii remote to wipe the stuff away. Holding the C button and making a throwing motion will lob a grenade where you're looking, and holding the Z button and waving the nunchuk will activate a laser whip to zap aliens that get a little too close for comfort.
Interestingly the 4-player online mode is co-op only, no versus.

Maybe they intend to make use of the SD card loading that's coming to the Wii soon? they could maybe get around the limitation then.

It'll probably end up looking like a Playstation one game.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

Looks good, but I slightly do not 100% trust that review, as it IS on a site exclusive to WiiWare, and in addition, uses WAY more exclamation points than it needs to. I mean, at least 2 every paragraph. It's like that one Seinfeld episode.

Orbient is a good game, jackass.

Plus, I know you well enough on here to gift you a $6 game, but a $10 gift is a bit beyond my means (regardless of what your PMs seem to think we have in common ).

In reality, if I gift something, it'll be something that the person would not normally want to buy, just to open their eyes to new experiences.

Apparantly it's very good and has a ton of replay value.
You do realize it says how big the file is on the link you gave?

                          Onslaught code is 2450-0133-8902
                          Wii code is 1809 3279 0079 0360

This game feels a lot like PSO in that you're playing with 4 people co-op against not-so-random hordes of enemies with simplistic AI. The controls are pretty nice though.

I added your old Wii. You didn't add me.

                            Oh and I'm on

Played a few online matches with random people. The lag between players gets bad during a boss fight, and everyone seems to be running around with their heads chopped off. But otherwise I didn't have any slowdown in the action. I think the game was designed with the Wii's poor internet connection in mind.
