PoP: The Sands of Time & Warrior Within

Can someone tell me why I was depriving myself of these awesome titles for so long? Now I have the sudden urge to try to run along a wall horizontally and probably end up breaking my neck. It would be like one of those Animaniacs shorts:

GOOD IDEA: Running vertically along the walls in Prince of Persia.

BAD IDEA: Running vertically along the walls in real life.

The crumpled up body would be fun to laugh at.

I keep forgetting about those games.

I should probably play the first one that I have. The 2nd game looked so generic.

It's a real shame that 3 looks like it has all the stupid "darkness" that ruined 2.

I never played Warrior Within, but I really liked Sands Of Time.

Stick with 1, unless you like the idea of the game turning Xtreme in 2. I mean, I understand how being hunted by some monster day and night would make anyone a bit edgy, but please. They least they could have done was explain it in game, instead if hiding the explanation in the manual. (Sorry if it is explained in the game, I don't actually own Warrior Within.)

The first one rocked but both got old for me. I stopped playing the first at the big elevator.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

But that's the very end of the game!

The first I liked A LOT. I got two and was very happy for about three minutes, until I got to the first boss who beat me three times in a row.Cursing the steep learning curve, I shelved it for three months. Later I ended up getting three or four areas into the game, only to be completely confused at a puzzle that shouldn't have been hard at all. The Gamefaqs guide said something like "run along the edge and jump to the next platform" but I jumped in every damn direction I could think of and found no next platform. I even jumped off into the abyss a few times looking for hidden platforms. I was so mad I still haven't looked at it again. And the camera angle in the ssection I'm talking about kept snapping to a very un-useful view, also. So I have no idea how the rest of the game is, and I don't care.
                End rant.
Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

The first one's great and, apparently, the second one dosen't stack up and can be quite frustrating.

I wouldn't worry too much about the third installment, though; Given Ubisoft is hauling a** to crank out quality games so as to ensure EA dosen't buy them out, we can expect good things from it. 'Cause if they don't, they'll be devoured by the dark side.

This wouldn't happen to be a very large room with a bunch of curtains, ropes and locked gates with a platform down at the bottom with a few enemies down at the bottom, is it? My cousin (the one who owned the game; he got tired of it) got stuck in that area. At the same time he encountered some glitch that turned his character into some sort of dead vine creature, which slowly refilled his Sand power yet at the same time slowly drained his health, though that didn't kill him. It turns out he missed something important earlier in the game that prevented him from continuing; an enemy was supposed to come out of a gate in that area, but it didn't. He wound up having to start the whole game over.

Yeah, I've been reading about some of the glitches. I just hope that I don't run into any of them.

No it wasn't glitched at all. I just either wasn't seeing the platform or the guide missed something. Either way, it looked like a complete dead end with an abyss on either side and platforms up above, none of which led anywhere, yet all had annoying camera angles. If I recall there was a mini boss right before it that I kept fighting and almost jumping into the abyss while fighting it. And I think most of the color pallette for the area was blue. I think there was a ninja gaiden-style chute to climb up too, but that led nowhere as well.

The 2nd one still has the same basic gameplay so I loved it.
