    Got any tips for Viruses?

    The PC Kind?

Ugh. I been dealing with a few viruses on my PC and not sure how to get rid of them. I been running Norton AntiVirus and Spyware Doctor Anti-Virus. Though I've gotten rid of some truly nasty stuff, it seems as though the symptoms have not gone away.

And they symptoms are pretty annoying. I can't click certain buttons on programs or websites unless I Mimimize and Maximize the applications, one seems to have blocked my way to Norton's Quarantine and my CPU seems to be overworked.

Let me just say that I'm just glad my new PC is almost done.

Yeah that is what I use and I haven't had any problems.

      My current trifecta:
      • Avast! Anti-Virus
      • CCleaner
      • Ad-Aware

Granted I've never actually had to use Ad-Aware, or Avast with this computer so far. I probably don't even need Ad-Aware but it's nice to know that I got an extra layer of protection for Spyware and such just in case. Avast is a fantastic anti-virus program which automatically updates in the background, meaning that it's always running... but it can tend to be a resource hog and slow down older computers with low RAM. I wouldn't really recommend anything else as all my experiences with other anti-virus programs didn't fix anything and constantly nagged me with pop-up windows cautioning my every move. The only alternative as I see it would be AVG.

I run CCleaner about twice a week to clean up my computer's caches, history, registry, and what not. I defragment maybe once a month. I highly recommend CCleaner as it will help you remove a lot of unnecessary files that slow things down.

Best of all: every one of these programs is free. CNet and Download.com are the best places to look.

Do NOT download Shield Deluxe 2009. It's a Trojan Horse and it ****** me off that google features it as a sponsored link when looking for anti-virus programs.

What kind of porn sites were you visiting, anyways?

I've had zone alarm pro and have been doing rather fine. Should one sneak by though I usually do a system restore.

            Don't go to photobucket. Lawl.

                  Anyone else use AVG?

The dang thing is a memory hog when it updates at startup.

I changed that sound effect immediately after I installed it. I don't like having Steven Hawking telling me that my virus database is up to date.
