I just stumbled upon the European boxes for Megaman and Megaman 2.

One's not so bad. I dig the suit. And check out morose Wiley in the corner. At least it's better than the one we got.



That is until this...



AHHHHHHH!!! What happened!? He looks like he's from that crappy Silverhawks cartoon! I'm surprised Europe ever played another game ever again after having this image burned into their minds. Yikes!

I bought that exact same box once. I can't seem to find it, fortunately for me... however I've still got the game, which has a sticker of it .

I've never seen the first one, though. Best of the worst, up until the US MM3.

The original MM US box art is just horrid. I know they explained that the guy had 16 hours or so to create the piece, but I think a lot of people could do something much better within the same time frame.

Heheh, I remember that Bough Two box. I still have an ancient videogame magazine with the original ad, too, which was my source of information before the Internet. It was in something of a comic book format.

This isn't cover art, it's just a crappy four panel strip and a logo. And yet it still manages to make the game seem more interesting than it actually is.
