Re: EGM is dead
im not overly surprised, i think the closure of the mag was in the works for some time and most likely largely behind the huge amounts of free subscriptions (so they wouldnt have to refund anyones paid subscription if they closed perhaps?)
i dont think i ever bought a gaming mag, i just didnt see the point. with the internet, it was really a dead venue i think.

So they closed because of me?Originally posted by Valkysas View Postbecause you were getting a free subscription.
But seriously, while I only read it because of the free subscription, I kind of enjoyed reading it (But I simply enjoy reading most things)
It does suck for those who work there.
I wonder with which magazine (if any) will I receive in substitution...

Re: EGM is dead
Gaming magazines had a good run. I stayed with my EGM subscription for a long time, but eventually it just became painfully obvious that magazines could never keep up with the internet, even if they manage to grab some kind of exclusive look at a game or an interview. Also, EGM went through a number of editors and reviewers, and other format changes, so it wasn't even the same magazine anymore when I didn't pay to renew.
I definitely took advantage of the free subscription offers for EGM, but by the time I get the issue, the info i want is already old news.
