    Lupe: Japanese Cartoon?

    http://www.sixshot.com/articles/13557/

Could Lupe Fiasco be dumping his rap career for rock?

According to Fakeshoredrive, the Chicago rapper is fronting a rock band called Japanese Cartoon under the moniker Percival Fats.

Lupe (excuse me, Percival) croons with a British accent and the hip-hop blog leaked two Japanese Cartoon singles, "Heirplanes" and "Army".

As reported earlier, Lupe will be releasing his last solo album titled LupEND later this year. The album will be a three disc set. The three discs are individually called Everywhere, Nowhere and Down Here.

    Update, from wiki:

On January 5th 2009 a track called "Cartoon Heirplanes" was released on various hip hop websites with the Artist being shown as Percival Fats. Many speculate that the artist is indeed none othe than Lupe Fiasco due to the resemblance in the artist's voice. Percival Fats is stated to be a british punk rock artist. Percival Fats was only featured in "Cartoon Heirplanes" and "Army" according to the band Japanese Cartoon.

The band, Japanese Cartoon, has denied any reports of Lupe being involved in their projects other than serving as an executive producer.

"Percival Fats (Born Percival Hindenburg-Fats) Is NOT Lupe Fiasco (Born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco). Although he is a dear friend." A message posted via the bands myspace reads.

"...Lupe does finance the band but is NOT I REPEAT NOT THE SINGER IN JAPANESE CARTOON. He is however the producer and we value his participation very much." Lupe.

I kept thinking Lupe Fiasco was some Hispanic chick or something, as Lupe is a common name for Hispanic females.
