    The Morrowind Pavilion Marathon

    Rules:

    1. Must have Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and both its expansions.

    2. Game must not have any gameplay-altering mods in effect (Better Bodies and similar graphical enhancements are OK, added weaponry/enemies/quests are not)

    3. Those participating will be randomly ordered from first to last. The first person will be given a save state with a character with random stats/classes/abilities, beginning where Morrowind begins just after you set your character in stone.

    4. Each person will play the game for 7 in-game days (paying attention to how much they rest/wait), and upon completion of the 7th day they will save state and send the file to the next person to play (and to me in case the file is lost or damaged).

    5. During your turn, you will be expected to detail the in-game events on the forum in the form of a diary written by the Hero being played. Screenshots are optional but recommended. We will assume that our Hero has a multiple personality disorder for the purposes of allowing each player the freedom to do what they want.

    6. Save often, dying will not be part of the story. If you die, revert to the previous save and start over from there (in the diary too).

    7. Should a player break any of the rules or screw up the game to be COMPLETELY unplayable (how do you manage that?) the game will be reverted to a previous save.

    8. Game will continue until all the players have had a turn. Each turn will be posted in a separate Diary topic. Upon completion it will be decided here whether or not we should continue, start over, or add more players to the list.

    Anyone interested?

I like the idea, but no Morrowind.

I wouldn't mind doing the same thing for some other games though. Like The Witcher Enhanced Edition or Mass Effect.

I agree. Morrowind ****** me off to no end, and I don't own it. I do however, have Mass Effect and will soon have the Witcher, but I don't think either would be good for this. Fallout 3 on the other hand, is another story.

Oh! Yeah, Fallout 3 would be great.

Hmm, I can see why the Witcher wouldn't be too good - the story is too linear - but Mass Effect seems perfect for a switch-off marathon thing.

Darn, if the contest was for Oblivion I'd be in. I tried to get into Morrowind many times but just can't dig it.

I have morrowind and the expansions, but the game is rather tedious to play. I have never, ever had fun with it.

if this gets going and seems interesting, I might be willing to join in though.

I played morrowind once for 30 minutes.

              COUNT ME IN.

                Fallout 3 would be supurb...

Especially if I could force people to download my mods....

I lost my ES3 discs awhile back. So... I dunno. I could always look for them, but Morrowind's the only game I'd be able to do.

                    Damn.

You're about 4 years too late for me to get involved with this.

                        Re: The Morrowind Pavilion Marathon

Morrowind is the only thing my computer can handle. All of your other suggestions I only have on 360 or can't play.

I originally got the idea from a group that did the same thing with Dwarf Fortress. I could play that if everyone was willing to get past the ASCII graphics.

I also picked Morrowind because it's something everyone has played or has easy access to (downloading or buying), and it's something every computer that isn't older than 7 years can play. Nevermind how frustrating the game is. I thought this would be a fun event and it would be interesting to see what people did with their time playing. I also figured you guys wouldn't mind revisiting the game for a few hours but I guess most of you are the picky type.

Forgive me for suggesting, go back to playing your next gen stuff.

To be clear, I was saying I don't HAVE Morrowind.

The difference between Morrowind and Dwarf Fortress is that DF is freeware and anyone can download it. You're better off picking a roguelike like NetHack and we all take turns on different dungeon levels or something.

Now that would be fun but from what I know most Pavilionites don't care for roguelikes.

Do you really think I didn't know that already?

If you're not interested, don't reply. If you want a NetHack or DF version, make your own damn topic.
