So... It's a remake of a remake of Castlevania 1?

It's actually a remake of Dracula X68000 which was a remake of the original Famicom version... yeah.

I picked up the PS1 version at a pawn shop a few years ago. Konami released it towards the end of the system's lifeline and I don't think anyone actually paid any attention to it.

EDIT: This is also the most "hardcore" of the Dracula games IMO. You can play through it five or six times and each playthrough gets increasingly harder. I wouldn't mind another linear stage Dracula as Rondo of Blood made my mouth water for classic material.

I'm pretty sure he was agreeing with you. Which is why he said "yeah." He was just giving more info on its remake heritage.

I got CV I when it was new for the NES. That's some ball-busting difficulty for you. I may've gotten to the reaper a handful of times, I never even saw Dracula.

It'd be nice if the updated versions tightened the controls somewhat. I tried playing it a few years ago and I think a modern gamer accustomed to precise controls would be infuriated by the old-school sloppiness of it.

Yeah, the early games get pretty unfair with the situations they stick you in and expect you to get through with such limited mobility.
