    Holy crap!

    http://www.heymemory.com/32gb-sandis...card-p-81.html

$400 for a 32 Gig SD card! I can only image what kind of person who would need that kind of memory in an SD card. For that kind of price, it definitely can't serve any kind of practical purposes, except maybe if you had an HD camcorder, but even those aren't very practical considering most PCs don't have Blu-ray burners.

Well, this is an Ultra II type card, which has very fast read/write speeds, made for quick shooting SLR cameras or camcorders. A regular 32GB SD card might be a little less expensive.

Yeah, besides the reading and writing speeds, I don't see anything to really justify such a steep price.

I'll ask my sister, who majored in photography, if she thinks it's worth it.

      Don't copy that floppy!

I wouldn't say a photographer needs to fit that much memory in a camera, though the read/writer speed boost is desirable. However it'd be good for someone shooting video footage, especially since it is much quicker to export video from an SD card rather than capturing it from a tape deck.

I really don't think it is a steep price.

You must make a lot of money. Care to share some of that wealth with me? Christmas giving and whatnot.

Again, something like this is only really useful on an HD camcorder. You definitelty don't need that kind of size when taking pictures. An 8 Gig at the most would be plenty of space.

            It's a bit of a price jump.

I could really only see it being worth the dollar if it were going into a camcorder of some sort. Lucky for me my camcorder has its own HDD.

I do not make a lot of money, but this price separates people like you, who say 8 gigs is more than enough space; from professionals that need equipment like this to enjoy the best work flow possible.

Film equipment (which I'd say something like this probably falls under) tends to be very expensive, steady cam apparatuses for instance run into the order of 2000 dollars.

Unfortunately, all the HD camcorders that I saw for sale didn't have a HDD. They always advertise 4 Gig memory cards when along with HD camcorders. They thing is, HD camcorders would eat that 4 Gig card like it was nothing.

You're definitely right about the prices, DK. My sister has a couple of cameras worth more than I am.

Of course... She doesn't want to be a photographer anymore. :c

Well yeah, a professional would definitelty get the most use out of someting like this. I was just saying that an average person probably doesn't need a SD card with that kind of memory. Of course, none of us Pavilion members could be considered average....

That's not the first time I was told I was above average.
