Is Xenogears still good? Or is it one of those, "You had to play it back in the days" good?

I believe it's held up fairly well, with a few glaring exceptions.

1) Battles are slow. If you're not used to slow battles, well, you're going to get annoyed quickly.

2) 2nd Disc suffers from "Indigo Prophecy effect", it feels like they got tired of making the game and just tried to end it all as quickly as possible. But it doesn't hold the stupid plot twists. You spend the entire game building up to the epic finale, and instead of actually, you know, playing those events out you get to watch Fei sit in a chair and you read what happened while seeing a few still shots of these events. I **** you not.

Other than that, it's a faaaaaan-tastic game.

You play a few of the events out in disc 2! I actually enjoyed disc 2.
