Re: The PS2 Curtain Call
Well, the game is interesting so far. I do have a few complaints, though. One being that the graphics are possibly worse than 3 and that it takes like THREE HOURS until it decides to let you move around. The combat is still fun and now you have the option to give direct commands to your party members which can be a bit more useful than sitting around hoping a party member will heal you. This game is just strange, though. Not much of a spoiler, but...
*** SPOILERS ***
Uum... you can walk into TVs... there is this goofy looking bear there that becomes your combat analysist. The shadows are back. Something about that was a letdown. You through all of this **** to get rid of them in P3 and you find out that they are still around.
*** END SPOILERS ***
Haven't played enough of the game to come up with a solid impression yet. Despite the wierd stuff, which I will hopefully get use to, the game is pretty fun. I'll get more into it when I have more time to play it.PSN: KingJamos
Add me... I'll wait.

Re: The PS2 Curtain Call
Persona 4 is set in 2011. At least, that's what its calendar would have you believe. Persona 3 was set in 2009.Originally posted by John Mora View PostUh, Persona 4 is set in the past, so wouldn't it make sense that the Shadows are still around?!!?!?!?
I got it yesterday, and played... actually, I really don't know how much I played. Probably 4 or 5 hours. A bunch of good exposition at the beginning, some very likable characters (I'll take Yosuke over Junpei any day of the week; I'm just hoping someone can match the awesomeness of Akihito-senpai) and it just reminded me of why a game like this is so much better than an MMO like "SMT: Imagine."
I love that Knocked Down characters/enemies recover and can take action that same turn; it introduces a very, very nice Knock-Down-then-Guard dynamic. Also, I absolutely love their take on the Velvet Room this time around. It's disappointing that Elizabeth doesn't seem to have returned, though.
While whimsical at times, the story has been much, much darker so far than the opening hours of Persona 3. Lots of violence and mysteries already. Still, it's got a lighthearted tone. I mean, in what other game do you hear about a gruesome, mysterious death one evening and hang out with your friends at the mall (and befriend a walking Bear Costume) the next day?
I'd recommend this to absolutely everyone who enjoyed Persona 3.
