Agreed! I don't think this kind of flooding is actually all that uncommon in Venice, but from everything I've heard from people who have lived in that whole region of the world, the people there are way more laid back about stuff like this. It's just a part of life, and maybe even one to cherish, in it's own way. I try to think like that. It's a better way to live.

Like HoneyBaked Ham come Thanksgiving, sales for Venetian rubber boot companies during this season equal their total annual expenditures.

So if they sell any rubber boots for the rest of the year it is pure profit!
