    Xbox 360 question.

How much space do you have taken up on your hard drives, and how much should I need? I'm trying to figure out if I should go to Target and get a 60gb 360 with $50 gift card, or go to Circuit city and get an Arcade with "refurbished" 20gb + another wireless controller for $100 less.

    CHOICES.

I've heard that getting a refurbished one isn't that great of an idea (this was from the manager at my local Gamestop that I'm friends with). It's better to get a new one with a small amount of memory than chance what might have happened to the other hard drive.

The two I was looking at were priced similarly too...it was a sale or something I guess.

You can also upgrade later to a better hard drive if you want to for however much it costs.

If you want a lot of demos and XBLA games, and plan on installing your games to the hard drive, you want at least the 60 GB. If none of that matters to you, yeah, 20 GB, why not?

Holy crap, the Arcade isn't compatible with original Xbox games, and doesn't come with a headset. Screw that.

        Target it is! thread over.

It's only incompatible because you need a hard drive to install the emulator. Once you get one you can play Xbox games on it. Microsoft also has two new upgrade options. The 60 GB Starter Pack with 60gb drive, headset, ethernet cable and 3 months of Live. But it's $100 so unless you can get it as a gift from somebody you may as well get a Pro. And the Memory Update for NXE, where Aracde owners can get a 20gb drive for $20.

Man. I guess I can't dismiss that Arcade bundle. It is quite a bit cheaper.

I like to download demos and stuff, and 20gb isn't REALLY a whole lot. I'm still leaning a lot more towards the Pro Bundle at Target, that way I can get another wireless controller with the gift card and snag Burnout Paradise for $20 while I'm there, hopefully.

I'm kind of worried about what I'm getting into moving from PC and Wii to Xbox, though:

Ive got the 20gig and mines only like half full. Theres plenty of space so long as you arent downloading tons of movies, and delete all the old demos and crap you dont use/watch anymore. Plus if your 360 is on the same internet connection through a router as your PC and your running Windows you can stream playlists right to your Xbox to play. That way you dont need to take up space storing all your music on there. but Ive got all my music on an Ipod, and I can just plug it right into it and play it off there.

Nothing like GOW2 with some Iron Maiden replacing all the in game music.

You can play Gays of War 2 with an all-Snow Patrol soundtrack, as it was intended.

You fools, Gears of War 2 was designed with a Queen soundtrack in mind, or The Best of Disney collection.

I'm sure there's a thread for Gears of War talk somewhere.

See, I was going more for the mood that they advertise in the ads with Gary Jules and whoever the **** in the Gays of War 2 commercial. Y'know, really mopey alternative music. {:3

Wireless 360 headsets suck by the way...They're very unreliable.
