Looking for judges for upcoming minigame contest...RPGM3

At some point in the semi-near future, there will be a contest for RPGM3 for "Best Minigame," and I'm throwing it out to the community at large to find volunteers for judges. I'll be one of them, so I'm looking for two more.

You MUST have more than a passing knowledge of RPGM3, and be very familiar with val cond branches, variables, etc, as one of the categories for judging will take into account the technical aspects of the minigame.

If you're interested in volunteering, please post. As for when this is gonna happen, it's a bit up in the air at this point, but it will not be a huge time commitment, as you would only be judging a minigame from each entrant, not an entire game.

    Thank you.

Im sorry but why only RPGM3?

TBS is coming shortly... I finally got off my lazy self and contacted Datel, so new Max Drive software is coming thus allowing me to release my TBS.

      Apples and oranges.

If we included RPGM2 (which I would not be adverse to doing), we would need three judges (I'm basing the judging somewhat on the 3 judge setup for the Field of Dreams contest), and I have a STRONG suspicion that if I was even able to FIND three people willing to judge RPGM2 minigames, that would leave about 1 entrant.

As for why I'm not willing to judge them together, as I stated above, apples and oranges. A big part of the reason is because a technical category is included, and it's a bit unfair to judge something made with a piece of software where almost anything is available to make, versus a piece of software with a very narrow focus, and a lot fewer options.

I think the main point is to demonstrate that even with its supposed limitations, RPGM3 CAN do some pretty neat and complex stuff when it comes to minigames.

That, and finding judges for 3 should be easier, as there are more people active here with that software. This is no more an "official" Pav contest than Field of Dreams was. It's kind of an in-between official Pav contests contest.

That being said, if three people are willing to judge for RPGM2, and we get at least another 3-4+ people interested in submitting something, I'm all for having an RPGM2 portion of this.

Although you make a very valid argument and if there is not enough support from the RPGM2 and RPGM1 communities to make this happen then perhaps we should not include them, I do however disagree with the following:

I have heard this argument before about how one has to be imaginative and creative with RPGM3 in order to produce the results you want. Although this may be true, you have to be equally creative and imaginative in RPGM 1 & 2 to create truly amazing things. Don't you think that by raising the bar on the options available to the creator, that the level of achievement would also rise at a proportional rate? I don't know if you've had a chance to play many RPGM 1&2 games but some of the stuff I've seen people do has been down right amazing, even after years of knowing the systems. Just a thought.

You both make good points, but I kind of agree with Perv. It's just not fair to judge the two sofwares together. You can do so much more with RPGM2 as far as mini games go. I mean you can actually make objects move. That alone opens a whole new world of options.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have only one judge. Like you said before you're only looking at one aspect of a game. That being said, when do you plan on officially starting this Perv? I have an idea, but I don't want to start working on anything until the rules are posted.

You know what, I have a Max Drive now so I am declaring that I will judge the RPGM2 mini-game contest, since the mini-game contest was my idea to begin with.
