1998 was a good year for me too, 2008 has probably been my best year yet. I was reading that thing Alto posted about black progress or whatever the hell and saw the the thing about the guy getting lynched, it really took me back and made me think about how ten years ago, that was just 1998.

I remember playing pokemon blue & red back in the day, and even using the link cable to battle. I tried to find the few pokemon toys that were available in stores. There was a time when I could say the word "pokemon" and people would give me blank stares and/or reply "poke-what?"

*plays with Japanese speaking Meowth*

I also remember being entranced by PE, and hogging my friend's playstation trying to get as far as possible in that game.

Once I got a playstation of my own, I replayed it. My old roommate would come home at like 2am and say "you're still playing this?"

I've been playing Pokemon for more than half of my life. Yikes.

I do remember P.E. scaring me when I was younger. Something about incinerated corpses, mutating, head-splitting rats, and canines gone bad just didn't sit well for me.

I'm still amazed how I can still vividly remember certain events of my life from back then... well, video games at any rate.

Pokemon was the first "real" video game I had that wasn't some kids electronic education entertainment....
