    Weight Lifting

I stated lifting weights the past six weeks, and it feels great. I’m finally getting that “lean and sexy body that I always wanted.”

They’re only free weights though, so I can’t really go that in-depth when I try to work out. The things I want to try to work on the most are my arms, chest, and back. I can definitely tell a difference in my arms, but can’t really tell all that much in my back. I’m doing Upright Rowing, but I don’t really feel it that much in my back, and I’m doing it to the point of Failure with only ten reps, too. I’m going to try to start doing Military Presses and Slide Lateral Raises. I hope that I’ll really start to feel it using those along with Upright Rows. The only thing I can’t work on is my chest, and that’s something I’d really want to work on. My older brother has a bench, but I’d hate to ask him to use it. I might ask him eventually, though. Abs is another thing, but I haven’t done any exercises on them. I hope to do them eventually, but I just feel that to see results it will take an extremely long time. Does anyone here do alb exercises that would be able to tell me if this is true or not?

    Anyone else workout as well?

    Re: Weight Lifting

I love weights, particularly bench pressing.

However, as of late, I haven't been making an effort to visit the Y on a daily basis like I used to, and it's really taking a toll on my muscles.

Free weights are the best kind.

The things I want to try to work on the most are my arms, chest, and back.
Don't neglect your shoulders and legs. If you progress enough, you will begin to look odd when you're arms, chest and back are disproportionately larger. Also, if you're doing this for cosmetic reasons...shoulders are nice to have.

I’m doing Upright Rowing, but I don’t really feel it that much in my back, and I’m doing it to the point of Failure with only ten reps, too.
Try a back workout composed of the following:
                  T-Bar Rows
                  1 Arm Dumbbell Row
Chin Ups (or if you're too weak...Lat Pull Downs)

I’m going to try to start doing Military Presses and Slide Lateral Raises.
Can't say enough good things about the military press. I'd also recommend doing simple standing press.

I hope that I’ll really start to feel it using those along with Upright Rows.
Well this may be news to you but the military press and lateral raise are shoulder exercises. If you feel anything in your back, you're doing it wrong. But, as I said before, it is important to work on the shoulders.

The only thing I can’t work on is my chest, and that’s something I’d really want to work on. My older brother has a bench, but I’d hate to ask him to use it. I might ask him eventually, though.
You should. Or get yourself a gym membership.

Abs is another thing, but I haven’t done any exercises on them. I hope to do them eventually, but I just feel that to see results it will take an extremely long time. Does anyone here do alb exercises that would be able to tell me if this is true or not?
The progress on your abs will depend almost entirely on your body fat percentage. If you're thin, you could be seeing major definition in a couple months. Of course, most people tend to have a build up of fat on top of their abs, so they don't see anything.

                        Re: Weight Lifting

It's when you hold the weights in front of you with your arms bent, so that the weights are on level with your head, and you then raise them above your head until your arms are extended. It works your deltoids.

Not that I do that with free weights all that often, but I do it with the machines routinely.

Lifting heavy objects is manly. The more you can lift the manlier you are.
