    RIP Grapefruit the Goldfish

I saw her just sitting there for a long time. I thought she was sleeping, since they hardly move when they are, but after a while I noticed her mouth wasnt moving either. I got up close and saw this white fuzzy stuff on the edges of her tail fins, and on some other spots. That wasnt there yesterday. I reached in to move her and she was long gone.

Three and a half years old. Im gonna miss her.

    All goldfish go to heaven.

When we were kids, my siblings and I had three goldfish named Barney, Fred and Wilma.

Wilma died a horrible death when the tank filter somehow crushed down on her. She swam around all bent-like for 3 days before dying, and I think the reason why we didn't perform a mercy killing is because we thought she might live.

Barney was like 50% larger than Fred and had this habit of inadvertently expectorating pebbles it had swallowed onto Fred. Once he even managed to do this with a hardened turd pellet. Eventually we donated them both to a gardener who put them into a giant pool he owned where they would live long and prosper unto to colossal sizes.

If you take really good care of them they can easily live to be 20+ years old. By then they are enormous behemoth fish. Even bigger than mine was, and she was still growing. I think the longest ever recorded was 43 years old, owned by an old couple in England.

But sometimes even the best care isnt enough. Ive read that lots of goldfish die by accidently eating a rock when they float around inhaling food off the bottom.

Ive still got her buddy I call Michael Jackson. I got them at the same time, and shes also three and a half years old. Shes got big bug eyes. I call her MJ cause technically shes a Black Moore, but over about the last year shes slowly turned totally white. Now shes even getting hints of orange on her fins too. Its really weird.

Ive got two other ones that are about a year and a half old. A orange and white spotted telescope, and a little crowned pearl scale that has a deformed tail that maked him spin in circles when he tries to swim really fast. But he eats and farts around with the other fish. Then two little baby ones in my small tank. A calico Ryukin, and an awsome chocolate Lion Ranchu.

Goldfish are an addiction I tell ya!

My sister and I started off with small goldfish, and they died within a week. we did get biger ones Our mistake was not buying any water stabilizer. We just had straight up water that we had to change every few days. The changes in atmosphere so oftern stressed the suckers out

Back when I was 8, my parents got me a frog and two goldfish for Christmas.

Everything was going swell 3 days in. The goldfish even had babies! But shortly after the mom goldfish died.

            Ok. That sucks.

2 days later, I notice all of the baby goldfish were stuck in the rocks. Ouch.

The next day, the dad goldfish got sick and died.

Over this time the frog proceeded to eat the baby goldfish.

            ...

The frog then jumps out of the tank when I'm not home and my cat eats it.

            I'm never getting fish again. </repressed memory>

RIP. Goldfish are great little creatures. The few that I've had, Dr Phil, Oprah, and Judge Judy lived for about four or five years before going to the giant fishbowl in the sky.

I had goldfish once. One of them died, and we eventually gave the other 2 to my uncle Rick.

...Well, he wasn't really my uncle, but that's neither here nor there.
