    Arcade

Do you have any around you? Do you go in often? What kind of games do you expect from an arcade place? What games do you enjoy playing?

I have two arcade places in the two local malls. I usually expect a good arcade place to have the obvious fighting and shooting games, but I also want untraditional games and classics.

The one I usually go to has some good stuff (too many shooters and ticket games for my tastes). But they have a couple good games, my favorites being Flick Derby and Virtual On: OT, and the classic Bubble Bobble.

I have one arcade about 15 minutes from where I live. I used to go all the time in the 90's, but the decline of gaming has turned me away almost completely.

Anyway, as for the arcade. It's now called TILT, which really irked me because for over a decade it was called 'Mind Boggle" and it really stuck with me for personal reasons (Ixzion, myself, his sister, my brother, and my sister were featured in a local newspaper about the opening of said arcade 17 years ago, and we still have the paper around this house).

There are a few memorable titles in there (Guilty Gear X, Tekken 5) but the rest, meh.

I would actually like to see some vintage old school games like Contra, Raiden 1945, and Mortal Kombat, but they only have that **** at Disney World (that was 8 years ago, so I don't know that they have now).

        Re: Arcade

We have one here, thankfully. I go with my friends, if we all have free time and some extra quarters.

I expect most real arcades to have a fair amount of fighters, a few puzzle games, a light gun game, and a racing game. Usually that's how it works.

This one has almost everything I need, including different versions of Street Fighter (two 3rd strike machines), Samurai Shodown (just moved down from level 6 to level 5), Bust a move, Tetris, Marvel vs Capcom 1&2, and Darkstalkers. They have SF4 and Guilty Gear, etc. OH, and we actually end up playing Arcana Heart 2 a fair amount... but it's usually referred to as the "little girl fighting game."

The arcade in the student center here has Raiden, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with a purple screen, and Dirty Harry: The Pinball game.
