I use the dual thumbsticks every day to browse the internet (and play SOME games), and have noticed for the past few days that when I move them, they make a creaking sound. I never had this problem with my Dualshock 2 controller for my PS2, even though it was used when I bought my PS2 used.
Has anyone else noticed this problem? I'll grant you, I HAVE dropped it on the ground (carpeted floor, but I've dropped it pretty hard) a few times, but it still works. It's just making creaky sounds, and it's kind of annoying.
On a related note, when I got my second 360 Elite after the first one RRoD'd on me, even though it was brand new (had the Best Buy warranty thing), the controller seems a LOT less responsive than my first one. Navigating the blades, sometimes I need to hit the d-pad a few times for it to register, or I need to hit the A button a few times, because the first time, it will not register. Either that, or it's just running a LOT slower than my old 360, and I'm hitting the button too early. I can't tell you about how it works in games and such, because, you know....I don't play them.
