The first ever live demo of Heavy Rain made by Quantic Dream, the guys who brought you Omikron and Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. First off, IMPRESSIVE GRAPHICS. The characters don't look like stiff plastic. Anyways, the game is shaping up to be a fantastic interactive adventure. There's a few things I don't particularly like (using the six-axis controller to do mundane tasks and I HATE HATE HATE QUICK TIME EVENTS GOD DAMMIT SEGA WITH YOUR DIE HARD ARCADE) but all in all I'm getting a great Shenmue vibe with this.

Here's hoping it doesn't contain David Cage's famous pretentiousness and stupid philosophical ramblings but that's like asking Todd Howard to shut up for 5 minutes.

That definitely sounds interesting. They showed an alternate ending to the demo where the killer attacks the chick and she escapes and it ends with him shooting himself.

It basically looks like Indigo Prophecy 2 with a less obnoxious QTE (god I hated that Simon color wheel thing). Like I said, it has my interest but David Cage is one of those pretentious directors like Ken Levine who has to make all of their material heavy handed and reference a bunch of literature.

EDIT: oh yeah, 100 points for having a sensible female lead.

the graphics are really impressive.

conversely, the prince of persia demo is the most boring thing i've watched in a while.

the difference being you get to press buttons while watching the movie!

admittedly i zoomed in on snake's epic butt through 90% of the cutscenes. i want to meet the animators/modelers/whoever designed snake because a lot of care and attention to detail went into that guy's rump it is amazing

the difference being you get to press buttons while watching the movie!

MGS4 had nice little intermissions of gameplay.

This looks like Dragon's Lair 2008.
