Upcoming Shows

I figure it's been a while since we've talked about live music, compared to other recurring topics at least.

Anyone looking forward to any music, art, or comedy shows or festivals? You could even link to some samples so everyone knows who/what you're talking about.

Recently, I saw Ra Ra Riot, Walter Meego, and MAN MAN.

All three are recommendable, but especially Walter Meego if you're the dancing kind, MAN MAN if you like gypsies, and Ra Ra Riot if you agree that female musicians are cute as hell. The music is all good.

Tomorrow is Ben Kweller.

Halloween is the Dubconscious field party, of which I may have pictures to share. We'll see.


How about the rest of yas? I know of at least a few of you who venture out to things like this, right?

I haven't been to as many shows due to lack of funds/time. The last show I saw was Ministry back in April.

I am heading out to an event this friday. I'm not really going for the music, but hopefully it'll be decent. I'll post more later~

Going to see Smashing Pumpkins for the first time next friday, super excited.

I went and saw Zappa Plays Zappa. It was the greatest show I've ever been to! If it comes to your area I would highly recommend going.

Last night, I ended up going to listen to Christabel and the Jons... reallly good blue grass/swing from East Tennessee.

I like the Raconteurs, but I've never seen them live. I have seen the White Stripes, so I know that Jack does live music really well. I imagine that was a good show.

I'd be super excited too, DK. Honestly, I never really explored Smashing Pumpkins much beyond the Mellon Collie album, but they're definitely a part of my childhood and I still listen to that album.

It doesn't look like Zappa will be making his way down here any time soon.

i'm seeing brian posehn (stand up comic from mr show, just shoot me, sarah silverman show, comedians of comedy) tomorrow night.

saturday night i'm seeing the sword, down and metallica.

after that i'm seeing old crow medicine show.

then i'm seeing the sword, lamb of god and metallica.

then i'm seeing three inches of blood, the sword and lamb of god.

then i'm seeing louis c.k. (stand up comic)

YUP.

Brian Posehn is hilarious; I'm not as big of a fan of Louis C.K. but he's a good performer (when on TV at least). I wish comedy shows were a little more popular outside of the metropolitan cities of the world because I almost like them more than live music. (Almost.)

comedy shows are barely even popular IN metropolitan cities.

comedy is barely popular on the internet.

I almost went to Chicago to see Okkervil River. Otherwise, I haven't seen any lives bands in like a year.
