Retreading old ground, but.... (360 issues)

SO. I just got off the phone with an incredibly curt and un-helpful MS support supervisor, after my Xbox had trouble not freezing after 5 minutes (now down to about 10 seconds). She said I had to pay for the repairs, and that it would be 100 dollars. After asking her why the RRoD warranty didn't cover this, she said that since I had not specifically mentioned the RRoD, the extended warranty didn't cover it. So I asked her if their company didn't intend to have the product last past their year warranty, and she simply parroted back the line from before. Fine. I don't expect her to have all the answers. So I said I'd call back when it finally DOES red-ring. She hung up on me without even a good-bye.

So, ironically enough, I go to start it up to take out my Fable 2 disc, and what happens? RRoD.

Problem now is: it won't red-ring again. Just keeps freezing. Do I call quoting the red-ring problem, only to have them send it back to me saying it still isn't covered or what? Did the previous CSR ruin my chances for a replacement? I mean, come on, I just want to play Fallout on Tuesday!

Doesn't it though, Brad Pitt? Okay, thankfully (if you can call it that) I'm getting mostly RRoDs. Even took a picture of one. Is MS going to pull a dick move and try to call me out, or will they actually honor their warranty?

I see this question a lot on GameFAQs. You know, about people getting the Red Rings then not having them but the Xbox either works fine or has other problems (like freezing) without the said lights.

The usual answer is send it anyway, under the pretense that you have the RROD. I agree. If you had it once, it will happen again. Any solution other than having MS repair the console is a temporary fix. You got the RROD, therefore it is afflicted and should be covered by the warranty. If somehow they charge you for fixing it then I consider you unlucky. Most send their 360s into MS for the RROD even if they could get their consoles working again, and they had no problem.

Keep in mind that I'm going with GameFAQs suggestions, but this is one that I put stock into. Because I know that once you get those lights it is only a matter of time. Working or not, freezing or not, its pretty much dead. It got the RROD, therefore send it in.

Call up and tell them you have the RRoD and you want a repair. If they ask you for a credit card, it isn't free. If they DO try to charge you, you can ***** and whine and say you aren't paying and ask for a supervisor, who will give you like $25 off the repair cost.

True story: I called microsoft 9 times before i got someone who speaks good english.

This whole ordeal is so stupid. Microsoft has enough problems, why are they creating them?
