    Most Useless Mega Man Weaponry

This just comes from the dome:

Top Spin (Mega Man III): The unpredictability of this weapon astounds me! I know it's needed to defeat Shadow Man, but most of the time, I end up tapping the button, and BOOM! I run out of the damn thing. What's even worse is that it's needed in the final fight against Wily.

Charge Kick (Mega Man V): I know, I know. I love Mega Man V to death, but to provide me with a weapon that only serves as a threat to Wave Man is deemed useless in my eyes. Better just stick with the ol' Mega Buster.

Any kind of "Flash" attacks (Mega Man V, VI): Only used for one boss, and you have to use all of this weapon for the boss to die...you CANNNOT miss the boss even once, or you'll end up having to rely on another weapon.

Skull Man's weapon (Mega Man IV): It's a poor man's "Jewel Man" (MM9) shield that can only deflect against one attack. Corny!

Can you think of any more. List 'em here.

I'm gonna go with Super Arm. It's very situational in that you can't use it unless there are blocks present, regardless of how much health you have left.

It's been a while since I've played all the Mega Mans and they all kind of blur together to an extent. Super Arm gets my vote for the most useless Special Weapon. The ability itself would have been better off to just leave as an environmental interaction, versus a situational ability if and only when x applies.

MM9 has the most comprehensive weapon set for a Mega Man game, and is proof that we aren't dough-eyed suckers for nostalgia. Not only do the weapons have their practical uses for combat, they serve to expand upon the core gameplay mechanics by broadening the player's actual abilities and in turn creating different level design opportunities that utilize their uniqueness. The special weapons effectiveness are even further illustrated with the decision to ax the Mega Buster. Running through the stages whilst charging up your Buster Gun isn't an option anymore, and because of this the Special Weapons actually do get some mileage this time around rather than being used only when the "pew pew pew" Cannon doesn't cut it.

The Wily Stages really demonstrate just how useful the Special Weapons are in any given Mega Man game. They test all your abilities up to that point, so if you find you don't really need to change weapons all that often then chances are that's for a reason. They suck.

Basically the entire weapon set in MM5. The charge shot is the only thing you ever need in that game, and in many cases it does MORE damage to bosses than the sub-weapon they're supposedly weak to.

Despite this, MM5 is still my second favorite in the classic series, right behind MM9. Go figure.

The people who end up with mostly full weapons at the end of the Wily Stages are the same people who end up with 40 megalixirs at the end of a Final Fantasy.

I am one of those people.

Not the elephants!!! And, like, why else would you ever use a special weapon in this game.

Did Gutsman's super specific ability to pick up blocks have any effect on the game other than getting the magnet beam and moving the two blocks in Wily's stage?

Even though it's not MEGA MAN I found almost all of those stupid fairies or whatever they were called from MMZ1 to be useless.
