Any suggestions on cutting down lag?

I've placed about 12 buildings and 20 decorative objects in my town so far, and the CPU's clocked at about 90%+ in quite a few places. Thats even without any characters or events. I've been evenly spacing my buldings as best as I can, plus using "building" decorative objects as substitutes, and am still having a hard time getting it below 90% . Now I realize cutting down on events and such will lower it, but I kind of need the buildings there as it's my main town.

I was wondering if there was any good advice on reducing game lag. What do you do?

    Thanks.

Lag just sucks hardcore. There's really nothing you can do about it other then delete a few thing. I've just learned to live with a little here and there. So long as the whole town isn't super slow it's all good. One thing I do is just put people in the buildings. You can give a reason why they don't like going out.

Well good luck with the ***** that is lag.

I'm not exactly sure how the CPU reading measures into lag, I don't think it's really a perfect relationship, but I'm sure there are people who know more about that than me.

If you've got the Data Usage available for it, you could try "splitting" the town like That Weird Kid described. If you're careful about how you place things, you can get by with about 60% to 80% of the processing power in each location, that you would have used in your original town.

I assumed that's what the CPU was for. I was never really sure myself.
